Defending yourself properly in a DUI case can entail attacking every argument of prosecutors or manipulating any one or all of the witnesses and experts. See one sample below..

Expert DUI defense witness lied about credentials, pleads no contest

The Atlanta resident was called as a defense witness for two Centre County residents facing separate DUI trials in 2011. In both of those cases, the defendants were found guilty on DUI charges despite his testimony, according to court documents.

Investigating, preparing, and arguing your case will require the expertise of a specialized  DUI attorney. However, the title does not make a perfect defense for you yet. It takes the dedication of a legal team to master the different issues of law, science and the courtroom procedure to make up a quality DUI defense.

“According to the State Justice Department, more than 200,000 individuals are charged with driving under the influence each year.”  The majority of those who receive DUI charges are dangerously uninformed of their rights concerning these matters and are negligent of possible defense strategies. In an effort to assist those finding themselves facing DUI charges, The Law Offices of Joshua P. Visco have launched a campaign to increase public awareness of the defense services they offer.

It maybe true that drivers under the influence of alcohol and illegal substances must be taken off the streets to make them much safer, but many DUI arrests and charges in South Florida are unfair, unwarranted and even illegal.

This DUI checkpoints are set up in many states, and I’m not alone with my point of view.

“Police stopped 404 vehicles in one night last week and made at least 10 arrests or citations at what was ostensibly a DUI checkpoint. While the checkpoints are designed to catch drunk drivers in the act, DUI defense lawyer James Knox says that sober drivers often get in trouble too.

“The checkpoint lasted for five hours Friday night and issued citations for driving without a license or with a suspended license, as well as two DUI arrests. A checkpoint earlier in the week issued 20 citations for violations including failure to wear a seat belt and making incomplete stops according to the Redlands Patch (7.22.13).

“These checkpoints are spun as public safety measures but they use a baby-with-bathwater mentality,” said Knox, a partner at Milligan, Beswick, Levine & Knox LLP. ‘Perfectly safe drivers get tickets because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.’”

You can take the case of a tour bus driver in San Francisco, California who got caught  for DUI.

“Maynard was driving a San Francisco Deluxe Sightseeing tour bus when a police officer asked him to stop near Stockton and Post streets on July 5, around 1:15 p.m. When the officers reached the bus, they saw 3 bottles of E&J Brandy on the windowsill of the bus. 2 of the 3 bottles were travel-sized and the 3rd one was bigger.

“An intoxication test result showed Maynard’s BAC level at 0.21 percent. He is not in custody.

“Superior Court Judge Samuel Feng ordered Maynard to appear in court. He is summoned to court for a pretrial hearing on 19th of August. The judge also ordered him not to drive a motor vehicle while the case is pending.”
